Watercooling a Dual CPU, Suggestions on flow

Hey there,

I'm in the process of building a case, (see my modlog here. http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/f...ead.php?t=3108 )

I have a watercooling setup but I'm unsure how to rig the flow.

My kit is
1x Asetek Pump 700 model.
2x Asetek Xeon Waterblocks (needed for the mobo, dont ask!)
1x Asetek Res
1x 240mm Rad

My Rad will be floor mounted at the front of the case with the pump behind.
Current flow thoughts are either
1. Pump - CPU2 - CPU1 - Rad - Res
2. Pump - Y Splitter - Both Cpu's - Y Splitter - Rad - Res

My SLI will be in a loop of its own with a 120mm Rad on the top at some point.

Any other suggestions on flow?

Maybe put it like this:

Pump - CPU - rad - CPU - Res - Rad

I havent watercooled before, but I dont think stringing the 2 CPU's together without some form of cooling stage inbetween is a good idea. Whichever CPU comes first will be cool but the second wont be cooled properly. I think your Y-Splitter idea is better for cooling, but I dont know exactly how that affects the flow speed.

i think that if you used a Y splitter before the cpus, and then had a rad after each cpu before using another Y to bring the tubes back from 2 to 1 you would prolly get good results. although that would involve buying more hardware. if buying another rad isnt an option, go with youre second idea.

Not only buying more hardware, but it will also be taking up more space. But if you got the money and the space, go for it!

Ok, the Asetek kit is rubbish. Going to use it elsewhere or maybe sell it. It just doesn't lower temps enough for my liking.

The Barbs are for the Rad, Question is?

Have I missed anything? Also can anyone recommend an Additive that wont stain tubing? I had Zerex but after a week or so it started to stain.
