Windows 7 GUI Mod - TaskBar

Hey

Just been thinking, im getting a new laptop soon and i am wanting to modify it - but more on the software side of things.

I dont really want it to just look like another windows product. Ive previously used things like stardock - didnt really like it, as you needed to pay for it. And ive just looked into Rainmeter, but as i am someone who likes his desktop changing all the time, Rainmeter skins really dont exactly "fit in".

Anyway, what i am wanting to do is remove the old windows 7 taskbar and replace it with something that resembles more of the Ubuntu 'top bar'. So something just simplistic, to sit at the bottom of my screen with some 'button's' that once clicked show menus of programs etc.

Is there anything out there already like this/can do this?

or does it look like i shall be needing to dig out some programming skills to do this :think:
