New motherboard, power question...
Just got a new Biostar motherboard, and in addition to the 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8-pin CPU power connector it has a 4-pin Molex power connector on it. Never seen one of those before. The manual says:
"JATXPWR3: Auxiliary Power for Graphics
This connector is an auxilliary power connection for graphics cards. Exclusive power for the graphics card provides better graphics performance."
So my question is, what exactly does this power? The board has one PCIe 16x 2.0 slot, but it also has two PCIe 1x and three PCI slots. Does this power connector power all of them?

Re: New motherboard, power question...
It powers mainly the PCIe 16x slot for more powerful graphics cards... although most graphics cards that draw more than 75W have external power connectors anyway.

So this does the job the external power connectors do for cards that don't have them?

Sort of, most of the time it will give it cleaner power (I think).
