Silver Surfer Acrylic Hybrid Case

I want to be the first to mod this one, and do it justice.
I took a decent wallpaper and rendered out the background:

The Plan is to take an acrylic case, and mod the entire case to look like space, and the open side will have silver surfer , moon, and planet.
To get the space effect I'm either going to cover the inside of the case with a vinyl wrap with stars and planets cut out,
or make mini appliques (templates) of planets and stars, stick them to the inside of case and paint it with plasti-coat, than remove the appliques to lets light shine throught those areas.
Im not sure if I should use UV lights, or Ultra Whites ??? I guess i'll have to test both... The first thing I have to do is cut out the appliques, then decide on a clear case........

Sounds like a great idea. +rep. Although, the size of your pictures is a little large. You may want to scale them down to 800X600 or 640X480.

this is gonna look pretty slick. I'm not a fan of acrylic cases, but your ideas for the inside might change that! :)

It's kind of ironic, I just had built an 11' tall x 6' wide x 8' deep, Standee of the silver surfer sliding down a building, life size and everything including a fiberglass surfboard and a metal frame. This is a promo for the fantastic 4 movie coming out soon.

As for lighting, Ultra whites are the way to go. UV wouldn't do much for this mod, except make it tacky.

Sorry It's been so long, I ran into a few other projects this summer. I ended up changing the cheaper

case for a x-clear case, much nicer! I also decided to do a video worklog insted. With the vinyl on

the inside, exept where the surfer is on the outside, the meteor lights shine through him, I may need

to ad another set to make him phase a little brighter.
