Hi all

Does anywhere if there are any mod shops in the UK? I am new to modding and my current project (a small firewall) is about as much as I am comfortable with right now. Last year, I broke my arm (plus a thumb and a finger) and it still isn't up to delicate operations.

I have an empty case I wanted to turn into a NAS/media server. Normally, I'd do it myself and, if I botch it, put it down to experience. However, the case is very hard to come-by and deserves someone who really knows what they're doing as it must retain it's original appearance and be quiet to boot.

Any ideas for how to get it built?

Thanks!

how the hell did managed to brake both of them..... anyway

i would advise you to wait for a while, if don't want to ****up this case, start a nother project, so you can get some experience.
if some one else does te work for you, all the fun is lost

I'm not sure about the UK, but the place to go in the US for a sweet mod is right here: www.thebestcasescenario.com

Thanks guys, I guess I'm gonna have to wait. Everywhere that offers a build service in the UK seems to want you to use one of their cases. Oh, well

www.aria.co.uk - I know they do custom builds. Hunt on their site for the "Custom Pc Builder"

I'm new to this site and came across it via Google and I was wondering if they could transfer anime-style artwork onto a case if it was big enough for the side panels along with the artwork by email and the customer sent the case to them if said customer lived in the UK...

Can you rephrase that with punctuation? I'm afraid your request comes across unclearly. Are you looking for someone from the UK to do this task for you?

I'm looking for a case modding service in either the UK or the US that can transfer anime-style art onto a case and paint it as well, if the customer sent the case to them instead of buying the case directly from them.

Thats quite an ask. Im not aware of any companys that do that? You could probably find a local artist to airbrush it on for you?

I don't think there's any local companies that I could trust with my case or the case that I plan on buying in the future for my ultimate PC system to do this job which is why I'd rather have it done by a specialist PC modding firm than any old Flash Harry firm...

Surely if they flip it up, you don't pay. That'd be the beauty of using someone local. I think you underestimate how good some artists can be.

That's true but I'm still wary about using a local artist and as I said, I'd rather use a reputable firm like Smooth Creations or this very firm than trust a expensive case in the hands of somebody who might not know what they're doing...

The last thing you want to do is ship a computer case anywhere. It's going to cost a lot. Try going to a college and looking around, or maybe look in the phone book for some painting firms. Ask to see examples of their work, and if you're impressed, use them.

Being honest, it's the big firms that you should avoid. The best air-brusher in the world might live just next door.

I can understand where all you guys are coming from but in the end I stll don't want to fork out a shedload of cash to a local artist who doesn't know the first thing about anime/manga style art or who might botch up the paint job because they've never done this sort of thing before when I'd rather take a risk at the end of the day and have it done with a company like the ones that I mentioned...

I'm not saying that your advice is bad but I'm just wary about using local artists at the end of the day, that's all...

you'd be surprised...

if you asked arround you might find someone, check deviant art for people in your area who do that kind of stuff... if you look arround you just might find exactly what you're looking for.

and like they said steer away from the big guys, they tend to botch things up rather quickly... mianly because they commercialize the crap out of their works. if you were going that way I'd be more inclined to tell you to ask one of the guys here if they will mod the case for you, better yet you can stop worrying about messing it up and try yourself!?

if you want it properly airbrushed there are tons of local artists. ask them for a demo and give them a sample of what you want. most artist have the ability to copy what you want. thats one of the first skills most of them learn... in most fine art schools they have the students making replicas of old famous paintings and drawings, some of them get pretty damn close... dont doubt them, but make sure you get a sample before any money or cases change hands,

I'd really listen to these guys. A talented airbrush artist dosent have to know flip about anime to copy it for you.

You think every tattoo artists studies all different art styles? No, but the outcome is still pretty damn good 99% of the time. Its exactily the same with an artist and your case. And like I said, if you don't like it im sure most artists would appreciate that you wouldn't pay for a shoddy outcome.

Have a search for someone local, you'll get a far better quality, and it'll probably turn out cheaper after you've posted your case and all that ****.
