View Full Version : new to forum...alien case mod

hi everyone at TBCS...i've been browsing modding forums for some time now after getting hooked on modding from magazines like Maximum PC and Computer Power User...i decided i would like to post my first project on this site as it seems to be one of the best!

so i began fabrication after i got my sketch down...i plan on making every exterior panel out of sheet metal as it is light and easy to cut...therefore i have to create every panel with locking mechanisms and such out of a flat piece of sheet metal which is going to take some time...

i am doing this project as a little side hobby...i don't plan on this case being done any time soon so please have patience with me...

First of all, Welcome to the forums! :D

Second, the case is lookin good so far. I dunno if you're already doing this but I think that would look real nice with green & blue lighting... I know I'm stealing this idea but, the crop circles on the top of the case should be painted in glow-in-the-dark paint... I couldn't tell by your pictures, are you putting some watercooling in that?
I don't really have a whole lot of suggestions cause I'm certainly not the biggest modder, but just a couple ideas...

thanks...yeah i had actually planned on putting green acrylic under each piece of metal cut out with green or uv lights inside...sorry i was'nt very clear with my overall goal of what i want this case to look like...i'll try to get a full sketch up soon...i'm not sure if you are talking about the PSU wires? but i had planned on buying some water cooling when this case is done...just to top it off...

ooh, I like the green acrylic idea. But wait! I just got a really good idea! You should do some etched or frosted crop circles on the window. That would be friggen sweet!

By the way, is that a Silverstone case?
