Onboard Sound went out i think

yet another one of my MANY computer problems, i think my onboard sound went out, because i cant get any response from my speakers, YES they are plugged in correctly, and YES i turned up the volume in windows and the speakers are turned up. is there any way i may be able to fix this? i have already tried resetting and that didnt work.
