I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Gwar. They crack me the hell up, and nothing beats metal played by a bunch of dudes in rubber monster costumes.

Its not illegal if you allready "own" the songs and are downloading a backup copy...
And hey, lets face the facts...
Everyone does it, and if they say they dont, they lie.

look, I don't care how you look at it, I don't care if you do it or not.
but I do care if you talk about it here, provide links to it, discuss it in any matter. The fact is that it is against the law, and providing links to illegal software, discussions about software or copyright piracy has no place on this board.
I've been pretty strong about this in the past, and I aim to stay that way. Any threads will be deleted and the author warned. Repeated warnings will lead to vacations from this board, permanent or otherwise.

I prefer to purchase my music legally. I have never downloaded music off the net. I would rather have the physical product in my hands to drool over and read liner notes and stuff. IMHO cd's ruined the album art. I have Pink Floyd's the wall on LP and cd and DVD (ok so I like the album), and prefer the liner notes that came with the LP. The artwork is also more detailed at 12" vs 5".

Slipknot used to be my favorite band, passed now by Soilwork! Swedish Metal is the greatest.

Meh I used to pirate music but i can't be arsed anymore, it's risky, virii, wrong files, legal trouble =/
i've started buying albums, i think the most recent 3 or 4 i've bought (which has included Iron Maiden's "Powerslave", Lyketha Aflame's "Elvenfris", Dark Tranquility's "Character" and a few others)
oh, if you like metal at all, particularly death, speed, or power, check out Elvenfris. It's a simply amazing album.
.Maleficus.
08-25-2006, 01:21 PM
Ahhh, Powerslave. That is a great album too. The last album I bought was "Enter Deception" by Cellador. There is still one band that I find particularly interesting, and that is Symphony X. There seems to be a lot of progressive, power, and other kinds of metal bands that have lots of fantasy and history as their subject matter, but Symphony X just does something different. Yes, they sing about The Odyssey, and dragons, and things like that, but they have stuff that nobody else can even compare to. Like the song "The Odyssey", that is one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard. It is just incredible. If you like metal at all, that is another album to check out.
