Hey guys, spoke with Crimson on this, he recommended I post here, so... if you are near the area, and looking to LAN.... come on out and PARTY!!!! ;) I am a member of the AustinModders, and will be judging the competition. So, your work will be appreciated! Bring it out and SHOW IT OFF!!!! :D

The below statement is the TXGF publicity statement, so... get your game on and bring your rig!

The Texas Gaming Festival, TXGF, is holding it's Summer 2006 event at the Crocket Center in Austin, TX. We do at least one 300+ LAN event yearly and our 100 man monthly LAN's will be starting up again at Tek Republik*. This event currently features Counter-strike: Source, Quake 4, Unreal Tournament 2007, and Battlefield 2 tournaments. There are currently cash prizes for all tournaments and hardware for the CS:S tournament. As more sponsors join up, expect more and better prizes. Current sponsors include Thermaltake, Cooler Master, AMD, ECS, and OCZ. A scheduling conflict has unfortunalty pushed the LAN back some. Will we for sure be opening early morning on the 27th and run late on the 28th to accomodate events. We may open doors late on the 26th. Cost for pre-registrants is $25. You must sign up for txgf.com and then register for the LAN and tournaments. Register soon, price will increase on May 22nd.

*Tek Republic is our gaming center that will also play host to computer repair, custom builds, and possibly server hosting (game and web). We already have fiber Internet from Grande Communication giving us sub 10ms ping times (screenshots will be on the site soon). The mid-range in house gaming systems will be overclocked Opteron 144's, XFX 7900GT XXX, 2gb Corsair XMS, 300gb Seagate Baracudas w/ 16mb cache, Asus SLi motherboard, and 20.1" wide screen LCD's. The high-end boxes haven't been built yet but we already have the 7900GTX's for them. Expect bigger screens and an overall faster machine. There will also eventually be at least one ultra high-end machine sporting the new version of quad SLi on a 30" LCD, possibly an AM2 system. Our opening is expected to be early may.
