Draw your house, or apartment, exactly to scale. That should give you a good primer.

draw a large gelatinous, jet powered whale. have it screaming through the costa rican jungle canopy, and eating frogs. make it translucent, and give it gills for no apparent reason. then, have cocain vapour spewing from the gills.

if you want to be really creative, draw two of them swirling around in a duel, and have commentators strapped to their backs. have a spedometer on their side that reads "sludge puppy".

and while you're at it, you might as well draw a large flourescent eel that is in the process of turning itself inside out.

now, id give that scene a 10/10, and then id eat it. by the way, i have no idea what sketch up is.

Jesus, Slugtoy, I don't think that whale is the only one to have cocaine vapors spewing from it's gills. How the hell did you come up with that?

:p

how do i come up with what i do? the answer is simple. temporary insanity.

i get into a zone where i do my best work. by best, i mean strangest. it takes a good ten minutes to warm up, but once im there, i can draw, write, and make up songs on the spot. all of which are absolutely horrible, but very entertaining.

no drugs involved, except alcohol when its a late night and im out of ideas.

CAD stands for computer aided design, so there is not machinery, i think you mean CAM which is computer aided manufacturing

Yeah. i was drawing a case in it.

I am still getting a feel for working in the 3rd dimension on a 2d screen, and also scale.

But otherwise, it's pretty aweseom.

Eventually, i should draw a scale model of my putar.

I've got the first in a series of tutorial articles posted on the front page (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=135&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0) on how to use SketchUp. This one covers teh very basics and walks you through the first tutorial lesson that comes bundled with the program. I'll be doing a new more of these over the next week or two that will go more in-depth about the article. Take a look and let me know what you think - your feedback is always appreciated.

Thanks!
