I just spent an hour trying to figure out how to get it to work. Surprise! Gmail doesn't support Push.

So here is my question...

Why on earth does Yahoo have Push but Gmail does not?? Now I have to set up a Yahoo account and have Gmail forward my mail to my Yahoo mail so I can have Push.

In other news, I just downloaded Skype on my iPod Touch. Now to debate whether I want to keep paying $60 a month when the most I ever do is check voice mail and text everyday. (Update: Never mind about that, I thought you could text with Skype. Apparently not.)

What service are you paying $60/month for? That seems a little ridiculous....

Well I'm using/testing out Textfree Lite, but meh, I think I'd rather just like to use my email instead. I just can't figure out how to get this damn stuff to work. But if I could get it to work the way I want it to, I would use my email for texting and maybe skype for voice mail. But I NEED Push to even begin thinking about using my email instead for texting. I can't check it every three seconds, it needs to alert me when I get a new message.

I can't seem to figure out how to forward my gmail mail to my yahoo mail though. I've entered my yahoo address into my gmail forwarding section. Not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Verizon. I have their cheapest plan with unlimited texting. They have a $39.99 plan, but it doesn't have the unlimited texting. I think I can downgrade to it though and then upgrade to unlimited texting for $10 extra a month, bringing me to a total to 50 instead of 60. Not sure though, haven't cared enough to look into it.

This stuff is ridiculously expensive, thats why I'm looking into all of this. I don't ever even use the actual phone part of my phone, I just use texting and voice mail. The only downside is I have to be in a wifi area, but I could really use that extra $60 a month! lol

Ohh, you have an iPhone, not an iPod Touch? Well that explains the ridiculous price, lol. Perhaps you could look into another way to text? You could probably get a cheap GoPhone or something similar and just buy the cards for texting and all that other good stuff.

Nope, I have an iPod Touch. Verizon doesn't have the iPhone, nobody does aside from AT&T (Here in the US anyways). I'm just trying to figure out how to either get rid of Verizon of find a cheaper way of doing things.

I was going to get an iPhone back when I bought my iPod Touch, but the cheapest plan they have with unlimited texting is $90 a month.

I might have to look into those GoPhones. But if I can get my Touch to work the way I want it to, that would be even better as I always have it with me and it would cut down on pocket clutter. But then again, it would be nice to not need to be in a WiFi spot to message, although I usually am most of the day. If only I could figure out how to get a mobile wifi router or something. lol :p
