It was only a matter of time, given the popularity of Transformers. I'm actually a bit surprised GI Joe wasn't done first.

Looks to be an interesting summer movie wise. Wish I could say the same about concerts lol. Other than Alice Cooper, it's looking very drab.

Edit: D'oh, it's not coming out until Summer of 09. I'm sure it'll be worth waiting for.

Hopefully, they change the part where GI Joe is now a "global task force" that answers to the UN. What happened to the real American hero we grew up with?

If I remember correctly, there already was a movie about a patriotic American fighting force, it was called Team America.

But yeah, why do the things we know and love have to change for the big screen?
Why does every comic book adaption have to change something vital about the characters?

Simple: creative license. In other words, the same lame reason why books are always better than film adaptations.
