One question: Do my mods suck?

I've deleted my account @ Modshop.net because none of my mods make it past round 1. Are my mods just too crappy?

Huh? Think this might be better titled "Serious Questions Please". I read where your R2D2 mod made the pages of PC Magazine, and you have another soon to grace the pages of Maximum PC? Hmmmmm.... Do your mods suck?

Modding isn't a popularity contest.

Its about doing what you love and expressing yourself through creativity using your tools, know-how and design skills.

It isn't about impressing the masses. Its about taking computers to the next level.

For the record, I like your mods. They don't give me that "wow" factor like say Doom3 or Motorized Madness, but thats not a bad thing. Its just simply that they don't do that for me. But I do like them, because its not about who can build the next biggest, baddest, most amazing case mod. Its about love and passion for computers and making them yours through an expression of who you are. Which you have done.

Be proud of your work TGS. You have no reason not to be.

There's a little too much ass-kissing going on at Modshop for my tastes. I'm not too confident in the people running it either.

Your mods are awesome.

I like every one of them myself!
Especially the Winni.

Hell ya! Who doesn't love Space Balls?

My most favorite case mod by TGS is a really close tie between Namesake, Dodge Super Bee and R2-D2.

I also really like Thinner ATX for some reason. I guess I think it was a really good artistic expression/release build. That may or may not of been the point of the build, but thats how I received it. So no hard feelings TGS if I got it wrong. :)

Wow, Zephik has nailed it. (Nice work) To be more concise, TGS, I for one love your mods. So some people at another site think others are better, or flashier, or whatever it is that tickles their... whatever.

Bottom line, I think: Who do you build mods for?

On a side note, I am a huge Mopar fan and Super Bee would look REALLY nice on my desk. Absolutely outstanding mod. :)

Who do you build mods for?

Exactly. Modding is somewhat similar to music--if your art touches just one person, doing it was worth it. And the fact that your Superbee mod is going to be in Maximum PC is testament to your modding ability.

Can I point out a couple mods that rule? R2D2 and The Matrix.

You mods do not 'suck' at all.

What got you into modding in the first place. I mod because I like to work on stuff, planning and building projects is fun and relaxing for me. You make great mods, don't doubt yourself. I personally think your mods are great. If some people don't like them then don't worry about it. Most people I know don't even like modding, all they care about is playing games on computers not having cool looking computers. Remember your computers are all unique and that alone sets you apart from the crowd.

Nobody else does what you have done, I mean the spaceballs pc? That thing is awesome.

If your mods are what you wanted them to be, and in your eyes they don't suck, then they don't. Modding isn't about mass appeal. You aren't selling your cases. If you were selling your cases, then you would be making green neon plexiglass cases with bullets sticking out of them.

This is truly a case of awesomeness is in the eye of the beholder. If you like it, who cares? Even if you just post a paint job here, people will like it because you took the time to make a case look better in your eyes or even make a case in general.

Even in my opinion, you mods do not suck.
[side note]
MY mods suck. Why? Because I have NEVER MODDED A CASE.

Crazy, huh? Sure, I've tried making one but it never got off the ground. I've been here for what, 9 months, and I have never modded a case.

That's a question that only you can answer. Do you like your mods? If so, then no, they don't suck. But if you're modding things and you don't even like them, then why do it?

Besides, who gives a **** about what some people in a modding popularity contest think?

Now, to answer your question with my opinion: No, your mods don't suck. I love watching the stuff you do, because so much of it is thinking outside the box. I mean, craft stick airplane computer? Who'da thunk it other than TGS?

This is almost why I don't like contest sites like Modshop.

TGS, your mods are definitally more then average, but internet places like that are really only a popularity contest.

Its like highschool all over again.

ok first off I have not seen a single mod of yours that hasnt made me just sit here with my mouth open a little. I checked out mod shop and that place bites. Half the people over there couldnt find there ass with both hands and a map. Like was said earlier you mod to make your self happy. To hell with everyone else. All that matters is what you think of it. I am far behind where I want to be in modding. You are one of the modders on here I look up to as far as seeing a mod that starts off as a junk dell case and it gets turned into a terrifying visage of what dell has become. no sir your mods are superior.
