I have a standard desk, 2 tier and I need something a bit bigger. I really like the L shaped desks because it will fit all 3 of my monitors with ease. (+ they look cooler :P) Does anyone know of a good place to get one under like $200 - $250? I deff dont want it to be cheap but I can't go spending alot on a desk.

Lemme know please!

Build a desk from scratch! I did that too, took me two 4'x8' sheets of plywood and some other wood-stuff and a few brackets to mount it to the wall. I now have a desk big enough for 4 persons (two of which have 3 monitors, including me) I can post a picture once I get home again (after the weekend...)

If you build something yourself you can make it exactly as you want it and it soesn't have to be expensive..

I would prefer to buy it. I barely have enough time to work on my mod :(

I'd either take a peak at your local craigslist or start shopping around at staples, target, walmart etc... They have decent prices for decent quality.

Personally, I'd go for Craigslist... you'd have a pretty good chance finding a nice oak, or pine desk rather than particleboard and odds are, cheaper as well.

For example...

out of those 3 i would go with the first, or middle one. i like the "boxed" in feel but the middle one is nice to show off the lcd's.

Well it has to have the flat surface cuz I have 3 monitors now. (2 22" & 1 17") So I need the room.

Here is what my room is like.

It would go in that corner cuz my bed is on the left and my entertainment center is at the bottom. Thats the only place it can go. So 4' X 6' is my limit.

None of those will fit in that space without some sawing and hammering.

1 or 3 could be cut down nicely. No 2 could as well though it looks like that monitor shelf would have to come off as well - it;s too high from the looks of it. 1& 3 would leave you some drawers and stuff to build in.

Well my Dad shot it down :(. So I guess I'm gonna have to deal with limited space.

I agree that shelf is way too high for the best viewing angle but I'm sure it's just connected by plastic dowels but since pops says, "no." it's a no-go. :( There's always later. Maybe save up? If you're paying for it yourself I don't see where he can tell you yay or nay... then again, every family works different.

Save up for one sheet of 8 x 4 ply four lengths of 3x3 for the legs and two lengths of 2x2 to baton the wall. Then you can build a kick-ass desk with a nice curved front into that alcove and along the wall. For around $50.

Or would that be a no with Dad too?

Probably.... sucks living at home. I will be moving out later this year so we'll see what happens at my own place.
