I'm selling another laptop and someone on craigslist offered me a trade for an iMac G4 (http://f-raposo.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/big_mac_w350.jpg) but he/she doesn't know the specs on it.

How would you find the specs on a Mac? I've never owned one and we were pretty limited on what folders/files we could access on them at school so I never got a chance to explore the hdd.

Thanks guys.

Hit it with a hammer, look at the chips inside.

Zug zug.

(In all honesty, I don't know.)

There is.

The G4 should be OS X. Open up applications and then open Utilities. In Utilities its listed as System Profiler.

You can get there as well by clicking the apple symbol on the top left. Then click "About this mac". Then click the "more info" button.

There you can actually get more info easier than windows. Hardware and software. Im on my mac right now lol thats how I know how to get to it.

I have an idea- why not just send it to me, and you won't have to worry about it?

That's Quakken, 4408 redbird Ct., loveland Colorado.

seriously. The town I live in is named Loveland.

Anyway, just send it ups or whatever you want to send it. Just get it here and you won't have to worry about it anymore.

an easier way still to find out the specs of a mac ----> click the apple in the top left of the screen, a drop down appears. click "about this mac"
BAM all your system info.

Enjoy:D

Eh screw it, some guy is buying it tonight for 300 even. I was worried I would only get around 250 for it which is why I was considering the mac.

And about this mac doesn't give you everything. Only a few basic things. You have to click The "more info" button to get a full spec list on everything.

The G4 ibooks seem to hold there value pretty well. Much higher prices for the most part than what I would expect to see them going for. I got sad the other day because someone was giving away one for free on craiglist (G3 though) so I replied but my email got there like 3 seconds after the first person. Some teacher. But I was happy that the person sent me a reply telling me they gave it to the teacher. The cool thing is that they are gonna look and see if they have the os disk I needed and send me that so its cool.
