Using a mirror spinning at a ridiculous 20Hz—20 revolutions a second—researchers at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies have created a fully-functioning monochrome "holographic" display. While holographic displays are pretty common, most implementations don't allow true 360-degree walkarounds. This puppy does.

(I wouldn't normally double post but I wanted to get the feeling right in the post above)
That was awesome on so many levels. Especially the scanning of the object then displaying it and the full-motion video.
The thing is that machine makes so much sense. Rotating mirrors and projectors...nice idea. So how much to get one in my home?

Still pretty bad ass though, that thing is freaking sweet. Wish I knew how to build one.. I bet its complicated.
