You heard right. Download the latest version of Google earth (http://earth.google.com/)and hit ctrl alt a.

The controls are here (http://earth.google.com/intl/en/userguide/v4/flightsim/index.html)

You get a choice between flying a SR22 and a F 16.

Huh? Doesn't work here...

I think I have the latest version, 4.2.0180.1134 (beta)

If I check for updates, there are none available.

Ctrl-Alt-A does nothing...

Hmm, despite the update saying no updates are available, I downloaded their latest version which turns out to be 4.2.0181.2634 (beta).

Still no response to Ctrl-Alt-A though...

No mention of it in the user guide (http://earth.google.com/intl/en/userguide/v4/) either.

It's not April 1st, is it?

Apparently it works, I haven't tried it myself but he was giving me a very detailed description of dive-bombing my house.

No need for your xbox now!

When you have opened the latest version first click on the Earth to place focus on that pane in the application: Then hit ctrl+alt+ A and you will be in :)

ps once you do this once its under "tools" menu.

As soon as I'm finished with my space flight/combat simulator (www.eve-online.com) for the day, I'll hop on that... should be better that MS Flight Simulator, lol... that just seems boring to me.

Well, I found it.

Forget Ctrl-Alt-A and use Ctrl-Win-A instead.

Maybe it's a uk keyboard thing, but that's how I got into it eventually.

How do you start the engine?

I tried Increase thrust = Page Up
Nothing Happens.

That works for me.

If it doesn't work for you click the link to the flight controls I posted in my first post.

Controls (http://earth.google.com/intl/en/userguide/v4/flightsim/index.html)

Here are the three ways to start it.

Usual one is: Ctrl Alt A
Other Commands: Ctrl + Windows + A
and: Ctrl + A
OSX: Command + Option + A

I am running ver 4.2.0181 .2634 (beta) on XP
