Use the same motherboard? I'm looking to upgrade my 1.66GHz solo to a duo but I'm worried it wont support the dual core. You think?

It uses the MD666 motherboard. I'm not sure if it supports a Core Duo though. I couldn't find a spec sheet in the 2 minutes I looked, but you could call Dell and ask.

awesome. I found a T2300 that I'd like to throw in my new laptop... 65 bucks, not too bad :o)
can someone explain this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2%2050001157%2040000343%201389627504%20105071993 0&bop=And&CompareItemList=N82E16819111180%2CN82E16819111182% 2CN82E16819111182R) to me
Is it because the others are more energy efficient? That's all I can gather from the comparisons.

Slightly different voltages

Slightly different voltages
..which I imagine would affect both efficiency and heat generation, though likely not by much.
Probably just different models for different mobos. Make sure you find out what voltage your mobo is providing to the cpu.
