Computers have come a long was in a relatively short amount of time. The post about the 1-ton 5MB hard drive from the 1950's is a prime example of this. Now, the University of Michigan College of Engineering has created an entire computer that is down to the millimeter scale. Read on to find out more...

Let’s face it, all of us are tired of paying for our TV content via cable or satellite. We have all heard about HTPCs but how many of us have actually tackled the task of building one? I took a quick poll on our forums and only 25 members reported having built or owning an HTPC. That’s only 0.69% of our member base. Those numbers started me thinking… Is the lack of HTPCs because people do not want one or are intimidated by building and setting one up? My gut tells me it’s the latter, so in this series I am going to completely cover everything you need to know about an HTPC from planning to building to enjoying. Continue reading after the jump.

We rarely post an unboxing article here at TBCS. It’s not that we don’t like them; we just feel that they are better served if actual review content follows. With that said, I recently received a PSU that came packaged more elegantly than any other we have reviewed here at TBCS, and I could not in good conscience refrain from giving it a separate unboxing article. So sit back and enjoy the photos within.

Make no mistake: computer case companies pay attention to what us modders do. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. 20 years ago, computer cases with windows in the side were simply not heard of. Color selection back then? Any color you want, as long as it was beige. Windowed cases? Who in their right mind would want to see a motherboard? Lighting? As if.
What a difference a few years make. Modders started do some very interesting things with computer cases, and like I stated, the computer case manufacturers paid close attention. Don't believe me? Check the jump to see one of the latest cases from Thermaltake: the Armor A30.

We mod, we play, we tinker, but every time we do, we have that nagging question at the back of our minds "Will it still work when we're done" which usually causes us to test. Little motherboard batteries on LEDs, an open PC with a spare molex sticking out, a multimeter etc. Lots of tools to test lots of things. What about.... One tool to test them all? Our latest member of staff, SXRguyinMA decided to change that question from "What if..." to "Why not...." Read on....
